Abstract

Large ships or vessels with a more powerful engine are often well-equipped with advanced communication devices such as satellite communications or high power two-way radio with central base stations located along the coastal line but small fishing boats are either ill-equipped or not equipped at all of any type of radio communication equipment. This paper addresses these problems by using a portable device which will give an audio visual indication to fishermen if they approach or cross international borders. An visual alert will be provided to fishermen if they about to cross international boundaries by using LCD display. Also an authority at coastal unit gives voice indication to fishermen in case of emergence purposes. Using GPS receiver, exact position can be located. The information is send to the microcontroller, which compares the current coordinates with preprogrammed boundary coordinates. If the fishermen is about to cross the border, an alarm will alert them.

Hence all these features make a complete portable device for fishermen that can help not only to move in sea but also to gain access for information even in the middle of the vast waters.

Abstract

Groundwater is an important resource and the quality of groundwater has to be good for consumption purpose. Nitrate contamination in groundwater is a major problem in many places. Nitrate pollution in the groundwater of the Chennai coastal aquifers was assessed to find out the extent of pollution in the area. From the samples collected from various locations, it is identified that the concentration of nitrate in groundwater ranged between 9 mg/L and 106 mg/L, and 27.7% of the samples have high nitrate. It was found that the higher concentration of nitrate is due to the use of fertilizers and leaching from septic tanks of residential buildings in this region. It is evident from the present study that the groundwater of this area is highly contaminated with nitrate and mitigative measures are needed to be taken to treat the groundwater which is used for domestic purposes.

Abstract

Predicting college and school dropouts is a major problem in educational system and has complicated challenge due to data imbalance and multi dimensionality, which can affect the low performance of students. In this paper, we have collected different database from various colleges, among these 500 best real attributes are identified in order to identify the factor that affecting dropout students using neural based classification algorithm and different mining technique are implemented for data processing. We also propose a Dropout Prediction Algorithm (DPA) using fuzzy logic and Logistic Regression based inference system because the weighted average will improve the performance of whole system. We are experimented our proposed work with all other classification systems and documented as the best outcomes. The aggregated data is given to the decision trees for better dropout prediction. The accuracy of overall system 98.6% it shows the proposed work depicts efficient prediction.

Abstract

Ayurvedhic system of medicine is an ancient and traditional medicine of India. These preparations use combination of remedies to alleviate diseases. Heavy metal poisoning in ayurvedhic preparation contribute to 0.6% of global burden for diseases. Children consuming this estimated to contribute about 6, 00,000 of newer intellectual disabilities every year. Previously the ayurvedhic preparations were available as bhasmas and they are incorporated with adjuvant heavy metals to increase the potency. Heavy metals often found are lead, arsenic and mercury. Lead interferes with many bodily function affecting brain, lungs, liver and kidney. Arsenic causes keratosis, gangrene; cancer in skin, kidney, bladder and lungs after 20 yrs. Mercury is a neurodevelopmental poison affecting cell migration causing cell degeneration and death. In modern formulations their presence may be excessive because of poor quality control, contamination, adulteration and improper purification. Therefore users of ayurvedhic formulation are at risk of developing heavy metal poisoning leading to organ toxicity. In this study a selective herbal formulation were subjected to estimate for their heavy metal content and its lethality value is found by carrying out with brine shrimp lethality assay.

Abstract

Brushless Less DC motors has a specific characteristics like high starting torque, high efficiency and it has long life it has also termed as permanent magnet synchronous motor. Due to the construction that suitable for the critical application it is widely used in the industrial area. By comparing BLDC motor with the induction motor and DC motor it has several advantage such as long life and no need of mechanical commutation. In order to make the system stable in these project we have used the Proportional Integral Derivative controller and the fuzzy logic controller. In the BLDC Motor for giving the gate signal the angle value of theta is given. In order to find the error in the output side the feedback controller is used and it is directly connected to the multilevel inverter for getting the desired output the feedback is given to input. By using the MATLAB Simulation the BLDC motor characteristics such as back emf, speed, current has been determined.

Abstract

The visual quality of underexposed videos can be increased with the help of a process known as video enhancement. Within the scope of this research, we present a novel approach to enhancing the exposure of movies that are underexposed. Because it has a low barrier to entry theoretically and can reliably give perceptually pleasant outcomes without adding artifacts, it is ideal for a wide variety of practical applications. This is because it is useful for a wide variety of practical applications. We demonstrate the usefulness of the method by displaying improved films of good quality that were made from a variety of different sorts of underexposed videos. A novel approach to the enhancement and editing of video is presented by our method. Rather than relying on a single heuristic transform function, it makes use of human visual perception to adaptively customize the overall visual appearance of the finished product. We believe that our work has the potential to make a big influence in the field of perception-aware video editing and the applications that are related to it, and that it is an important contribution to the community that works on improving videos. The challenge of video enhancement can be formulated as follows: given a video of low quality as the input, produce a video of high quality as the output, but only for specific uses. Whether it be in terms of the video objective clarity or its more subjective qualities, we are interested in learning how we might improve its overall quality.
